It all started with Florens-Louis Heidsieck, who was born in Westphalia in 1749 and worked as a drapier in Reims. There he fell in love with a girl from the Champagne region and thus also with the region’s Champagne. The roast aroma of this Champagne is very dry, with robust acidity tamed by ripe fruit and a creamy texture.
