Markus Huber was born and raised at the winery situated in the Traisental Valley, a the sub-region of Niederösterreich. The estate has been with the Huber family since 9 generations. Being the 10th generation and now responsible since the year 2000 for the Huber estate, Markus has become one of the leading winemakers in Austria and has received numerous awards for his wines and winemaking skills.
His distinctive, top-quality wines, grown on outstanding soils of lime and conglomerate, serve as an example of the very best Austria can provide. The practice of organic viticulture is an interplay of instinct, readiness to take risks and trust in nature. The aim is to create a natural balance between soil, plants, animals, humans and to strengthen the natural defense mechanisms of the vines.
The Grüner Veltliner grape is the pride of Austria and thrives in the soils and climate that can only be found here. The primary fruit flavors in Grüner Veltliner are lime, lemon, pear and grapefruit. There is also a green and herbaceous flavor that is often described as white pepper.
The grapes first undergo 4 hours of skin contact fermentation to extract as much of the fruit aromas as possible. After fermentation the wine is left to rest on the lees for 4 months, further enhancing the smoothness and texture of the wine.
This smooth, fruity, and mouthwateringly crisp wine with intense flavors pairs with a broad range of food: salads, chicken, cooked or grilled vegetables, fish and seafood dishes as well with Asian spices. Serving temperature 6–8 °C.
